John A. Pennypacker, 69, of 123 Reichwein Road, Lavelle, passed away Saturday afternoon at his residence.
Born in Fountain Springs, May 24, 1936, he was a son of the late Alton and Ruth Myers Pennypacker.
He attended Butler Township schools. He was employed as a mechanic for E.T. Kramer Garage and retired from Eastern Hydraulics Co., both of Ashland.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He was a member of Lavelle Fire Company.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Burnette, in October 1999; two sisters, Ruthann Phillips and Joyce Vinter.
Surviving are two sons, Timothy Pennypacker, San Diego, Calif., and Ted Pennypacker, Lavelle; a daughter, Deborah, wife of Michael Ferrill Sr., Philadelphia; a sister, Lynn Shelley, Leighton?; a grandson, Michael Ferrill Jr., Philadelphia; a great-granddaughter, Alyssa Ferrill, Prospect Park; nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Sunnyside Cemetery, Lavelle. The Rev. Bonnie Yeager, pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ, Barry Township, will officiate. There will be no viewing. Richard W. Fritz Funeral Home, Ashland, is in charge of arrangements.
