Jean Atoyac Lasseter, 81, died Saturday at his home.
He was born in Cordele, Ga., and had lived in Melrose since 1982, coming from Hialeah. He was an inspector for National Airlines for 27 years. He was past president of the Emory University Alumni Association and was a lay leader at the Melrose United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Melrose United Methodist Church.
He is survived by two sons, Robert C. Lasseter of Fort Worth, Texas, and James E. Lasseter of Hialeah; brother, Idris Emory Lasseter of Atlanta; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Melrose United Methodist Church with Rev. Jaynie Nell Hickman officiating. Burial will be in Eliam Cemetery in Melrose.
