Una Frances Benke, 90, of Jefferson City, died Friday, July 6, 1991, at her home.
She was born October 11, 1900, at Morrison, a daughter of John and Pauline Schwartz Naegelin. She was married July 6, 1921, at California to Walter Benke, who died in 1947.
A 1918 graduate of Jefferson City High School, she was employed as a clerk with the Missouri Department of Revenue until her retirement in 1966. She also worked for a number of years as a sales representative for Milsap's and Thrifty Clothing Store. She was a member of the Central United Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Jack E. Benke, Sr, Fulton, and Walter Benke, Jefferson City; one daughter, Charlotte Odam, Kansas City; one sister, Florence McGrew, Stamford, Connecticut; six grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday, July 9, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Chapel in Jefferson City with burial in Riverview Cemetery there. The Rev. Randy Odam and Dr. Stephen buchholz officiated at the rites.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association.
