Paul Edgar Kunselman, Sr., 78 of Broad Street, New Bethlehem, died Sunday, May 2, 1982 at Brookville Hospital. He was born July 20, 1903 in Oak Ridge, the son of John and Rosa Kunselman.

Mr. Kunselman is survived by his wife, the former Josephine Shilling, whom he married in July 1970; six daughters, Esther Kunselman of South Bethlem, Mrs. Ray (Maxine) Rearick of New Orleans, La., Mrs. Hilton (Alverda) Shoemaker of Distant, Mrs. Merle (Shirley) Ortz of Deanville, Mrs. Roger (Phyllis Jean) Flick of Distant, and Mrs. Jack (Judy) Barclay of Georgetown; five sons, Jack, Edgar, Donald and Paul Kunselman, Jr., all of Distant and Gary Kunselman of New Bethlehem; 26 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Torrence (Margaret) Truitt of New York.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Pearl Bish, who died in 1965; three brothers and two sisters. Mr. Kunselman was a member of the United Mine Workers of America.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) in the John R. Mateer Funeral Home, with Rev. Michael Duty officiating.

Burial will follow in the Distant Cemetery.
