Leota M. "Masie" Baker, 63 of Newton died of a heart ailment Thursday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton, with burial at Newton Union Cemetery.
Mrs. Baker was born in Paxton, Neb., and lived in Newton from 1952 until 1976, when she moved to Marion, Ohio. She returned to Newton in 1990. She was a Jasper County home health aide and a member of Newton Women of the Moose.
Surviving are her husband, Richard; two sons, John of Marion, Ohio, and Corey of Newton; and a grandchild.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.
