Deceased Name: Glen T. Anderson: Former American Fork mayor dies

Funeral services for Glen T. Anderson, former American Fork mayor and state representative, will be held today at 11 a.m. at the American Fork LDS 4th Ward, 455 E. 200 North, American Fork.

Anderson, 85, died Monday at his home in American Fork.

Anderson served on the American Fork City Council before serving two terms as mayor from 1958-1966. He then went on to serve two terms in the Utah House of Representatives from 1967-1970 in District 14, representing Utah County from Lindon to Fairfield.

Anderson's career at the Bank of American Fork spanned 65 years; he started in 1939 as a 19-year-old janitor and retired as vice chairman of the bank's board of directors in 2004. He was also president of the bank for many years.

He also served in the U.S. Army for three years during World War II, seeing action in North Africa and Italy.

He was educated at the LDS Business College and at the San Francisco College of Mortuary Science, becoming a licensed funeral director.

Anderson was born March 3, 1920, in American Fork, the son of Warren Fielding and Millie Thornton Anderson.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.
