Leroy V. Kirkpatrick
Leroy Vernon KIRKPATRICK, 57, died about 3 p.m. Sunday at his home on R.R. 4, Rochester, following a month's illness.
A resident of the Burton community for the past 18 years, he came here from Bremen. He was born Jan. 12, 1899, to James and Tryphena KIRKPATRICK and was married Jan. 29, 1921 to Ethel FOSTER, who survives.
A member of the Leroy Shelton Post of American Legion, he was a veteran of World War I.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. George BARNETT, Griffith; Mrs. James BRIDGE, Royal Ceter; four brothers, Fred and Milo [KIRKPATRICK], Mishawaka; Bill and Isaac [KIRKPATRICK], South Bend; three sistrs, Mrs. Ralph GERARD, Mishawaka, Mrs. Albert ROSS and Miss Edith KIRKPATRICK, South Bend, and three grandchildren. One sister and four brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral rites will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Foster Funeral Home here with the Rev. Robert ARMSTRONG officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery here with military honors. The body is at Foster's funeral home where friends may call after 6 p.m. today.
