The family of Danice Leah Day, who disappeared at age 19 in January of 2002, is now attempting to establish closure since the discovery of her body in June of 2009.

Danice was born May 8, 1982 in Laramie, Wyo. to Rod and Jonene Day of Medicine Bow, Wyo. She spent her early childhood in Medicine Bow and Laramie Wyoming and also in Del Norte and Monte Vista, Colo.

Danice went to elementary school in Medicine Bow and moved to Colorado. She then attended junior high and part of high school in Laramie. Danice had a close-knit group of friends in both Colorado and Wyoming. Danice will be remembered by family and friends for her bright, beautiful, and positive spirit. She will also be remembered as a loving, caring mother of two small children, Joshua and Kaylie. Her children became the light of her life.

Danice is survived by her two children Joshua and Kaylie; father Rod Day of Monte Vista; mother Jonene Day of Laramie; sisters Julie Flint of Laramie and Jacqui Flint of New York, NY; stepmother Judy Day of Del Norte; grandmother Bobbie Bourret of Laramie, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins from Wyoming and Texas. She is preceded in death by her grandfather Larry Bourret of Laramie and grandmother Opal Day of Fort Worth, Texas.

Memorial services in Colorado will be Nov 6, 2009 at the United Methodist Church, 215 Washington St, Monte Vista at 1 p.m. Reception to follow at the church. A memorial service in Wyoming will be Nov 13, 2009 at the Alice Hardie Stevens Center, 603 E. Ivinson Avenue, Larmie at 6:30 p.m. A memorial fund has been established at UniWyo Federal Credit in Laramie, Wyoming: c/o Leslie Johnson. Donations can also be given on the website established in her name, www.daniceday.com through PayPal. Strohmayer's Funeral Home made the arrangements.
