1850 Census:
Sarah (Harper) Stogdale born abt 1766 in Virginia, age 84 on the 1850 Census.

Claimed to be Sarah (Harper) Stockdale, who was born in 1764 according to some, in either Maryland or Virginia.

The people who believe she was the daughter if John Harper and Margrery Robinson say she was born in 1771, but I don't think that aligns with the records on John and Margrery's daughter. That Sarah was not married when her father wrote his Will on 28 Feb 1791, and I am suspect she was still single, when the Will was proven in 18 Sept. 1793.

However, it's possible she could have married "somewhere" after her father died or bet 1791 and 1793. But where did the marriage take place? Her brother William still owned his property in Berkeley County, Virginia in 1800.

Other records say that Sarah died, unmarried in Ross County, Ohio, on 8 July 1826. Proofs are needed all around.

We need a tombstone picture to help in this research.
Others connect this lady to a Josiah Finch and a Sarah Harper or Josiah Harper and Sarah Finch.
