SARAH C. STROPE OF OREANA DIES
Came To Illinois When Seven Years Old

Mrs. Sarah C. Strope of Oreana died in St. Mary's hospital Monday night, the result of a fall last Friday in her home. She had been in poor health for some time and the shock of the fall brought on complications from which she was unable to recover
Born in Ohio
Mrs. Strope was born Sept. 23, 1850 in Shelby county, O., and came to Illinois with her parents when only seven years of age. She was a daughter of Jacob Bennett, of Argenta and widow of John Strope, of near Oreana. She has lived in and near Oreana ever since she came to Illinois. She was a loyal member of the Oreana Baptist church. Her husband died in 1907 and since his death she has lived in Oreana with her daughter.
She leaves three children: J. E. Strope, of Cabot, Wis.; Mrs. W. H. Morrison, Rantoul, and Alice Strope, who lived with her mother. Six brothers and sisters survive her: L. M. Bennett, Blue Mound, J. B. Bennett, Houston, Tex., A. W. Bennett, Kansas City, Mo., F. E. Bennett, Cleveland, O., C. M. Bennett, Deactur [sic], and Minnie Bennett, of Argenta. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
