He was born on January 23, 1917, to Jessie James & Ivy (Currier) Adams in Erath County, TX. He married Julia Wenonah Mathews on October 2, 1937, in Dublin, TX. She preceded him in death on May 6, 2004. He was a Baptist and a WWII Marine veteran.
Survivors include one son & daughter-in-law, James & Connie Adams of Baytown, TX; one daughter & son-in-law, Janett Sue & Bud Zumwalt of Granbury, TX; two sisters; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Doyle Adams.
