Reed Farris, 64, of Mount Sherman, formerly of New Haven, passed away Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville.

He was born Feb. 6, 1945, in Stevenson and was the son of the late Wayne and Mae Calhoun Farris. He was a member of the Baptist faith. He worked construction for many years and in later years worked for Tim Ford Farms.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Rexford Farris, Gene Farris, Mike Farris and Walter Lee Farris; and two sisters, Helen Webb and Pearl Holbert.

Survivors include two brothers, Charles Farris of Arvada, Colo., and Arvil Farris of Elizabethtown; two sisters, Emma Willis of Dayton, Ohio and Geneva Taylor of Mount Sherman; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services for Reed Farris will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, in the chapel of William R. Rust Funeral Home in New Haven with the Rev. Tim Underhill officiating. Burial will be in Bardstown City Cemetery in Bardstown.

Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 24, and from 9 a.m. until time of services Wednesday at William R. Rust Funeral Home in New Haven.
