Jack was the son of Alonzo William and Mary Laverne Morrison Jones.

A veteran of WWII, he was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army. While in the European Theater he was taken Prisoner of War and held in Camp 005 in Germany.

He was employed by the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier. He enjoyed walking his route, always keeping fit and trim. His lingering illness and death was the result of being rear ended in a traffic accident. Several brain hemorrhages resulted, and he passed away five years later.

He married a West Virginia girl, the former Frances Gross, with whom he celebrated more than 50 years of marriage. She stayed by his side throughout those five years, helping him with his daily needs. One daughter, Jackie, blessed their marriage.
