CLEARWATER, S.C. - Mrs. Lucille Smith Barker of Clearwater, SC, wife of the late Horace Lester Barker, Sr. and daughter of the late Otis Leroy and Wallace Lecroy Smith, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on her eighty fifth birthday, Tuesday, November 24th, 2009. Born in Anderson, SC, she had been an area resident most of her life where she along with her late husband owned and operated Barker's Carpet. A devoted Christian, she was a dedicated member of Langley Church of God. She was a former member of South Aiken Church of God, Bath Pentecostal Holiness Church and Crawford Avenue Church of God, where she was formerly Secretary and Treasurer of the Ladies Willing Workers. Prior to her health declining, she enjoyed sewing and embroidery. She is survived by her children, Carolyn Collier, (Eddie), Horace Lester Barker, Jr. and Michael Barker, (Doris), all of Clearwater, SC; siblings, Juanita Wilson, Plantation, FL, Glenn Smith, Chattanooga, TN, Leland Smith, Lugoff, SC and Joel Smith, Walterboro, SC; grandchildren, Michele Lowe, (Rob), Deana Burch, (Joe), Crystal Morlan, (Matt), and Elaine Sanders, (John), and great-grandchildren, Graham Morlan, Kaylee Morlan, Madison Morlan, Caroline Lowe, Cooper Lowe, Megan Burch, Eddie Burch, Tommy Burch and Ben Burch. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, November 28th, 2009, at noon at Langley Church of God, Langley, SC, with Pastor Rich Bowen, Pastor Benny Burton, Pastor Bruce Fox and Dr. Andrew Sanders officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will be Rob Lowe, Joe Burch, Matt Morlan, John Sanders, Brad Bowen and Kenny Murphy. The family has asked that if so desired, memorials in memory of Mrs. Barker be made to Langley Church of God. Friends may call at the home of Carolyn and Eddie Collier.
