Ashland Man Dies Due
To Heart Attack
June Miller, 38, of 1402 Walnut Street, Ashland, died Sunday evening at 8 o'clock. Death was the result of a heart attack.
He was in apparent good health and his death was a shock to family and friends.
Born in Fountain Springs, he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Lamont Miller and graduated from Ashland High School. He also graduated from Susquehanna University.
Mr. Miller had served five years with the US Army. He had been employed as a teacher at the Ford Business School in Pottsville and at the time of his death was working as an accountant at Pomeroy's Store in Pottsville.
Active in the sports circles, Mr. Miller was a coach for St. Joseph's High School basketball team.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Ashland, and was also affiliated with Sarto Council, Knights of Columbus. He was married to the former Mary Vaughn in 1947.
Surviving in addition to his widow and parents are one daughter, Susanne, and the following brothers and sisters and one brothers, Mrs. George Richards, of Yeadon; Mrs. Phillip Schmidt, of Glenolden; Mrs. Victor Sherkness, of Schuylkill Haven and James Conners, of Ashland. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will take place Friday morning from his home, 1402 Walnut Street, Ashland. Solemn requiem Mass will be celebrated at 10 o'clock in St. Joseph's Church.
Burial will be in the St. Joseph's Cemetery, Fountain Springs. Friends may call Wednesday until the time of funeral.
