Mrs. Lillie Jane Polk died Wednesday morning at 4:25 o'clock at her home in the China Grove community, following a lengthy illness.
She was born on July 6, 1884, in Van Zandt county, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Morris, and had spent most of her life in the China Grove community, the last four years in China Grove.
She was married to Riley Polk on October 7, 1912.
Surviving are her husband; three sons, Pvt. Johnnie Polk, stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Sgt. Jesse Polk, Great Bend, Kansas and Pfc. James Paul Polk, Camp Swift; one daughter, Mrs. Lillian White of Athens Route 5; two grandchildren; two brothers, Albert Morris of Dallas and Johnnie Morris of Athens Route 5; and one sister, Mrs. Katie Polk, Dallas.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the grave in the Morris cemetery in Van Zandt county, with the Rev. Will Fugate of Wills Point officiating.
The Carroll and Lehr Funeral Home of Athens is in charge of arrangements.
