Obituary:
Zetta Faye Hill-Sykes, the eldest of a set of twins, was born May 19, 1929 to Luther and Cleora Hill in Grandfield, Oklahoma. On November 21, 2009 at 11:25am a band of angels came and took our beloved Zetta-Faye home to her final resting place. A place where there is no pain and no suffering.

As a youth, Zetta-Faye attended high schools in Oklahoma City, OK and Huston TX. After obtaining her high school diploma Zetta Faye began what would become a lifelong profession. She worked for her father's Real Estate Company for several years.

In 1957 Zetta relocated to Sonoma County, CA where she utilized her acquired business skills by managing the Rincon Valley Motel and later established and operated The Golden Care Home in Windsor CA for nineteen years. While residing in Windsor she served as a member of The City of Windsor City Council. Zetta attended Sonoma State College where she studied Real Estate and Business Marketing. Zetta was an impeccable dresser and lover of fine fashion. She obtained her Fashion Broker license and established Faye's Fashion and marketed her apparel at the San Francisco Fashion Exhibit Show.

In 1984 she met and married Marcellus Davis Sykes Jr., a retired 30 year marine veteran and Insurance Broker. Newly wedded, they relocated to Contra Costa County where they founded the Hill and Sykes Investment Company in San Pablo, CA. In 1988 Hill and Sykes provided job opportunities for at at-risk youth through their Tri-Steel building construction projects.

In 2000 through the National Heritage Foundation and in collaboration with Golden Gate Fields, they founded an annual Memorial Scholarship Fund Raising Event in memory of their cousin legendary Blues and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductee artist Charles Brown.
