Quartermaster John Smith married (2) in late 1654 Katherine ____. (On 18 Feb 1654/5, "John Smith and his wife were excommunicated for committing fornication together before marriage which was found out by the birth of their child albeit they being questioned for it before the church did conceal their sin until God palpably charged it upon them by the means." On 22 Apr 1655, "John Smith & his wife were both received again into the church having been excommunicated having been before the church the 15th day & upon some scruple about her both were deferred & this day she got hardly in some for her some against her & some neuters." "Katherine Smith" died at Boston on 17 July 1710, 90 years old.
They had ten children: Mary Pelton, John, Waitstill Davenport, Deliverance Bailey, Samuel, Sarah, Abigail, & Joseph.
