The funeral for Albert George (Bert) Ackley was Saturday at 2 p.m., at the Williams Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Ackley died Thursday, May 28, at his home in Superior at the age of 92 years, 1 month and 27 days.

The son of George and Catherine McDaland Ackley, he was born April 1, 1895, on a farm in Nance County, Nebraska.

In 1902, he moved with his family to a farm in Jewell County, Kansas. While in the Jewell County area, he attended Olive Hill School.

Sept. 9, 1917, he was united in marriage to Iva Belle Coates at the home of her parents. The couple farmed in Jewell County until 1945 when they purchased the Ike Feller farm north of the Superior Cement Plant. They lived there and farmed and raised livestock for 22 years before retiring in 1971 and moving into Superior.

Ackley was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church and the Senior Citizens, both of Superior.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, Iva, on Nov. 16, 1985, and two brothers, Vinton and Tom.

He is survived by one sister, Myrtis Hedrick, of California; two brothers, Elmor of Washington and Clyde of California; and many other relatives.

The Rev. Michael Mason was the officiant. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery.
