Funeral for Grandfather Bailey at Sterling
Funeral services were held at Sterling on Tuesday afternoon for "Grandfather" Bailey, one of Burleigh county's oldest residents, who passed away Sunday night at the home of his son, Rep. L. D. Bailey, near Moffit. The deceased was 93 years old, and he had lived in Burleigh county more than 40 years. He came to the county in territorial days when picking buffalo bones was more profitable than farming and when but for this employment the homesteaders would have had a hard time during the winter making both ends meet. He is survived by two sons, Lester D. Bailey, representative in the legislature, and Fred Bailey of Minneapolis. The latter was here for the funeral.
