CLARKSDALE, Mo. — Wilbur C Schottel, 77, Clarksdale, passed away November 26, 2009, at Farmington, Mo.
Wilbur was born February 12, 1932, in Cosby, Mo. He married Marian Spencer on June 7, 1951.
He worked at Quaker Oats for several years and Operating Engineers Local 101 for 33 years.
Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents, Walter C. and Mary E. Schottel; brother Harvey Schottel; sisters, Leona Brown, Esther Salmons and Agnes Dyche.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marian Schottel, Clarksdale; daughters, Kathy and Mark Kalin, Smithville, Mo., Wilma and Dennis Swope, Clarksdale, and Jill and Richard Vanderpool, St Joseph; sons, Ralph and Marla Schottel, Smithville, Warren and Linda Schottel, Stewartsville, Mo., and Pete and Sherrilyn Schottel, Stewartsville; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
The body has been cremated. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Thursday, December 3, Thornton Cemetery, Thornton Road, rural Clarksdale.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donation to your favorite charity.
