Daughter of Anthony Buckner and Mary Mitchell.

Mrs. Isabella Bright, widow of Hon. John M. Bright, died at midnight, Friday, September 7, 1917, the 82nd anniversary of her birth, after a week's illness following a stroke of paralysis. She was born at Mount Pleasant and was wedded to Mr. Bright in 1879 while he was a member of congress from this district. She had been for years a member of the Presbyterian Church and in her life shone resplendent all the Christian graces. She was possessed of a brilliant intellect and her splendid social qualities endeared her to every one; she was a type of the old-time Southern gentlewoman. Funeral services were conducted at the Presbyterian Church Sunday morning by Rev. R. S. Brown, after which the remains were laid beside those of her beloved husband in the Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
