Alva F. Parmenter of St. Croix Falls died March 2 at the age of 96. Alva was born March 4, 1911 at Trade River, Wisconsin to Andrew and Britta Kallman. She attended school through the 6th grade. Alva ventured to California at an early age, where she met her loving husband of 57 years, Howard. They spent most of their married life together in California until they returned to Wisconsin to be with family in 2001. While in St. Croix Falls, they enjoyed visiting with all Alva's family member at their town home and later at the Comforts of Home. While at Comforts Alva came to adore the staff where she was cared for with love. Alva loved to make things with her hands; painting, beading, papercrafts, and making things from recycled products.

Alva was preceded in death by her husband Howard, parents Andrew and Britta Kallman, sisters; Esther Swenson, May Johnson, Bertha Swenson, Amelia Palmquist, Linnea Nelson, Margaret Burns, and brothers; Arnold, Leonard, Andie, Enard, Walter, Olaf, and Donald.

She is survived by her sister Ruth (and her husband Frank) Boatman, sisters-in-law Annie Kallman, Vivian Kallman, and four generations of nephews and nieces.

Funeral services were Wednesday March 5 at Grandstrand Funeral Home in Osceola with Rev. Ron Hackman, officiating. Music was provided by Bonnie Fehrenbacher, Miss and Katie Miller. Interment in Kahbakong Cemetery, Taylors Falls, MN. Contributor: streamer (47113071)
