"Charles E. Parton, 83, died yesterday at a local hospital. Born in DeKalb County, Mo., he had lived in St Joseph 15 years. Mr. Parton was a retired farmer and a member of the Baptist church.

Survivors include five sons, Clifford Parton of Emmetsburg, Iowa, Leroy Parton of Leavenworth, Kan., and Raymond, Glen and Ola Parton of St Joseph; three daughters, Mrs. Goldie Hodgeman and Mrs. Ed Everett of St Joseph and Mrs. Lillie Michael of Buffalo, Mo.; and a brother, Thomas Parton of Stewartsville, Mo."
