Veteran of The World War.
Leonard Bajerski, known as "Leo," was a City Police Officer in Lancaster, New York. He died in the line of duty at age 34. Patrolman Bajerski was attempting to repossess a vehicle, going to a Garage in Depew, New York. Several Officers were with him to help enforce the court order. The owner of the shop told the Officers he would go get his keys from inside the shop. While the Officers waited, he returned with a shotgun and opened fire, striking Officer Bajerski in the head. After exchanging gunshots with the other officers, he turned the gun on himself and committed suicide. Patrolman Bajerski was survived by a wife and two young children.
