June Zena Adams, Crane, Mo., departed this life December 3, 2000 in her home at the age of 76 years. She was the daughter of Aubrey and Goldia Phillips, born June 12, l924 in Weiner, Ark. June graduated from Weiner High School in l942 and during WWII, she worked as a riveter, building B-29's in St. Louis. In l944 she married Clarence (Ted) Adams in Illinois. They settled in Nebraska and later moved to Crescent, Iowa where June was very active in community activities and the raising of her family. In l964, June moved with her family to Ft. Calhoun, Nebraska where she worked at Wilkinson's Manufacturing and Immanuel Hospital. June enjoyed fishing, needlework, gardening, cooking and caring for her children. Following retirement, June and Ted moved to Cape Fair and just recently they had moved to Crane where June was under the care of Community Hospice of America until her death following a lengthy battle with cancer. June was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Tommy and one grandchild, Angel Dawn Scott. Survivors include: her husband, Clarence (Ted) Adams; three sons, Steve Adams of Moore, Ill., Mark Adams and his wife, Tracy of Reeds Springs, and Mike Adams and his wife, Penny of Mobridge, SD; three daughters, Sherry Ohrt and her husband, Calvin, Lana Schafer and her husband, Frank all of Ft. Calhoun, Neb. and Jennifer Scott and her husband, John of Goodyear, Ariz.; two sisters, Lou Jean Manojlovich of Newport, Ark. and Della Craft of Jonesboro, Ark.; two brothers, Wayne Phillips of Weiner, Ark. and Raymond Phillips and his wife, Joyce of Otwell, Ark; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 5, in Manlove-Stumpff Chapel, Crane with the Rev. Gregg Boll officiating. Burial was in Crane Community Cemetery under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Homes.
