William Allen Sheffield, 66, of Hillsboro died Tues., Dec. 1, 2009, at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. William was born February 3, 1943 in Hillsboro the son of Luther Allen and Bertie Estelle (McHenry) Sheffield.
After joining the U. S. Army, he completed his eight weeks of basic training at Fort Polk, LA. before being stationed at Fort Ard, CA for eight weeks. He then served in Korea for 15½ months.
On March 3, 1966 he married Judy Renfro in Hillsboro. For 39 years, he worked as a welder at Harbison-Fischer Manufacturing Company, retiring in 2005.
An avid fisherman, camper, and outdoorsman, William also loved traveling, hunting, and working on cars. He was a member of the Hillsboro Church of The Nazarene.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Bobby Don and Larry Glenn Sheffield.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Sheffield of Hillsboro; sons, William Lee "Bill" Sheffield and Michael Sheffield and wife, LaDonna, all of Hillsboro; sisters, Ellen Hodgkins and Ann Lile both of Wichita Falls and Maudie Littleton of Cedar Hill; and grandson, Michael Allen Sheffield of Hillsboro.
Burial ceremony to be held Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, Interment at Hillcrest Garden of Memory Cemetery Highway 22 West Hillsboro, Texas.
