James Alfred Abbett, 39, Eldon, died Saturday following a motorcycle accident neat St. Elizabeth. He was born April 29, 1936 in Iberia, the son of Sherman and Effie Burks Abbett, who survive at Tuscumbia. He was married March 6, 1954 in Tuscumbia to Doris Maxine Hendry, who survives at the home.
Mr. Abbett was a member of the IOOF Lodge and the Iona Lodge, both in Eldon. He was a truck driver forEldon Skelgas.
Other survivors include: Three sons, James D., Randy Lee and Thomas Dean Abbett, all of the home; three brothers, Percy Abbett, Eldon, Donald Abbett, Tuscumbia and Kenneth Abbett, Dixon; one sister Mrs. JuanitaWison, Ulman and one grandchild.
Masonic services will be held at 8 p.m. today at the Phillips Funeral Chapel, Eldon. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Phillips Chapel, with the Rev. Ray Baker officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Tuscumbia
