ETHEL WATSON
Services for Ethel Amelia Watson, 88, 1001 W. 25th, are 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church with the rev. Ray Gearing officiating. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
Mrs. Watson died Tuesday at a local nursing home.
She was born Jan. 13, 1894 in Pontotoc County, Indian Territory, to William R. and Lou Ann Hatcher Riddle and lived here all her life.
She attended Union Valley School and later attended East Central University.
She was a teacher and a homemaker and also served as assistant superintendant of county schools.
She married A. T. Watson Dec. 24, 1912 in Ada and he died here May 20, 1975.
Mrs. Watson was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder.
She was also an active member of the Church Women's United, the Women's Circle, the Fortnightly Study Club, and the Ada Garden Club.
Survivors include four sons, Lewis M. Watson, Ada, Glenn R. Watson, Los Angeles, Calif., Albert T. Watson Jr., Greenville, Miss, and James Kenneth Watson, Gainesville, Fla.; two daughters, Lois Holmes, Pontotoc, and Doris McCoy, Denver, Colo.; two sisters, Mable Crabtree, Ada, and Lula Corrough, Albuquerque, N.M.; one brother, H.K. Riddle, Albuquerque, N.M.; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Waston's grandsons will serve as bearers.
The family says that those who wish may make contributions in Mrs. Watson's memory to the First Presbyterian Church or to a charity of their choice.
The body will lie in state at Smith Funeral Home until 1 p.m. Thursday.
