Anthony N. "Tony" Ciani, 62, of Tynan Rd., Cleveland, passed away November 27, 2009 at University Hospitals of Cleveland, Ohio. Tony was born April 1, 1947 in Fort Plain, NY, a son of Tony and Marguerite Holl Ciani. Tony graduated from Fort Plain Central Schools in 1965 and from Northeastern University in 1970. He worked as an accounting supervisor for Squibb-Beachnut Corp. in Canajoharie for several years, retiring in 1979. In 1979, he moved from Canajoharie to the Cleveland area. Following retirement, he was employed as a grocery clerk at Vella's Market in Constantia, retiring in 2006. Tony enjoyed listening to music, especially the Beatles and Bruce Springstein and traveling to the Adirondacks and Maine. He was also a Syracuse University sports fan. Surviving besides his wife, Melodie, are two sons, Geoffrey and Holly Ciani, Taberg, Jason Ciani, Deer Park, NY; three grandsons, Kaleb, Ethan and Elijah; two brothers, James Ciani, Saratoga, NY and Michael Ciani, Fort Plain, NY, along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. from LaRobardiere Funeral Home, Inc., Camden. Interment: Maple Flats Cemetery, Cleveland, NY. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 109 Main St. Memorial contributions may be made to Transplant Awareness Group of CNY, P.O. Box 2126, Syracuse, NY 13220.
