Lennie Sarah (Gates) Pitman-Scroggins was the daughter of Francis Marion Gates and Nora Parislee (Doke) Gates. Lennie married Lonnie Edward Pitman and they had one son William Allen Pitman who died at the age of 10 years. Lonnie died in 1950 and many years later Lennie married Orie K. Scroggins. Lennie was blind in one eye and as she grew older she was blind in both eyes. She was buried beside her first husband Lonnie and her son William in Hickory Grove Cemetery south of Morrisville, Polk County, Missouri.
