BEDFORD - Gene Thomas Arwine, 80, of Bedford, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2009. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Shannon Rufe Snow Funeral Chapel. Celebration of Life services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at The First United Methodist Church, Floydada, TX. Burial to follow in Floydada Cemetery.

Gene was born in Floydada in 1929, the son of the late Joe Arnold Arwine, Sr., and the late Deliah Thomas Arwine. He attended the University of Texas Austin, where he received a pharmacy degree. He worked with his father and brother at Arwine Drug in Floydada for 35 years prior to moving to the Bedford area and working for Minyard Food stores as a pharmacist.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Julianne Arwine, and his brother, Joe Arnold Arwine, Jr.

He is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Arwine, Carla Suggs Fortenberry; sons, Mike Arwine, Dr. Clay Suggs, and Patrick Lyle Suggs; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
