Gene Thomas Arwine, 80, of Bedford passed away Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Floydada. Interment: Floydada Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Shannon Rufe Snow Funeral Chapel.
Gene was born in Floydada in 1929, the son of the late Joe Arnold Arwine Sr. and the late Deliah Thomas Arwine. He attended the University of Texas Austin, where he received a pharmacy degree. He worked with his father and brother at Arwine Drug in Floydada for 35 years prior to moving to the Bedford area and working for Minyard Food stores as a pharmacist. He was preceded in death by his wife, Julianne Arwine, and his brother, Joe Arnold Arwine Jr.
Survivors: Daughters, Stephanie Arwine and Carla Suggs Fortenberry; sons, Mike Arwine, Dr. Clay Suggs and Patrick Lyle Suggs; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
