Mildred Irene Hodges Slocum, 95, of Roanoke, went to be with her LORD and her beloved husband on Saturday, February 25, 2006. Mildred was born January 1, 1911, a daughter of the late Fred W. and Ella Grubb Hodges. Mildred married the love of her life, John Milton Slocum, III on July 17, 1925. He preceded her in death on November 28, 1993. Mildred was also preceded in death by four children, Betty Slocum Bratton, Margaret E. Slocum, Paul C. Slocum and Herman L. Slocum; three brothers, Herbert Hodges, Ernest Hodges and Luther Hodges.she is survived by
daughters, Goldie Dunahoo, Myrtle Hodges, Martha and husban Don Ferrell. Sons and daughter-in-laws, Daniel and Louis Slocum, David and Hannah Slocum, Richard and Ellen Sue Slocum.
