BOONEVILLE ‑ James Brian Hood, 29, died Sunday, June 24, 2001, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth after a long illness. A lifelong resident of Prentiss County, he was born April 15, 1972, in Booneville. He gradu­ated from Thrasher High School in 1990, then attended Northeast Mississippi Community College. He was a member of Gaston Baptist Church and an employee of Caterpillar for nine years. He served in the National Guard for five years. An avid Mississippi State Bulldogs fan, he also enjoyed surfing the Internet.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ben Parman officiating. Burial will be in Gaston Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Leasia Moorman Hood; a son, Chris Davis of the home; his par­ents, Bobby Wayne and Jean Hood of Booneville; a brother, Alex Hood, and wife, Judy, of Booneville; his grandfather, W. C. Brown of Booneville.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sue Brown, and Durrell and Mary Jane Hood.

Pallbearers will be Kerry Lambert, Mitchell Beene, Greg Chambers, Robby Brooks, Kirby Jackson, Buster Jackson, Mike Swindle, John Pains and Terry Greene.

Honorary pallbearers will be his fellow employees at Caterpillar; and Corey Huddleston, Wesley Ashmore, Scottie Brown and Jeffrey Brown.
