Widow of Charles E. Ball, they were married in Mt. Vernon, MO on Sep 18, 1918. The Ball & Wise families were living on adjacent farms in Lawrence County, MO. Matilda was the only daughter of John A. & Anna Sowards Wise. She had seven brothers, Luther A., James R., Henry M., Arthur(died very young), Wesley, Howard, & Richard. Tillie & Chuck moved to Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas & back to Missouri following the various jobs. She was the mother of Howard & Floyd Ball, both veterans of WWII. Chuck retired from Carthage Marble Co. After his death, she moved to Colorado to be with her two sons. She was living next door to her son Floyd, when she suffered a massive stroke and passed away. They returned her body to Missouri, where she was laid to rest next to her husband. She was survived by her two sons, and two youngest brothers, Howard & Richard Wise. She was the Grandmother of ten Grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.
