He was owner and operator of a gas station in Bloomfield, IA., and was a former Davis County sheriff. He was a member of Bloomfield Christian Church and the Iowa state and national sheriff's associations.
He married LaRetta P. Beggs Octrober 12, 1932, in Lancaster. She survives. Also surviving are one son, Wally Horn, Cedar Rapids, Ia.; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren and two brothers, Rex Horn, Bloomfield, Ia. and Robert Horn, Carson City, Nev.
Services were held Tuesday, August 30, 1988 at Priester Funeral Chapel , Bloomfield, IA, conducted by the Rev. Don Macy and the Rev. Quentin Johnson.
Interment was in Bloomfield, IA IOOF cemetery.
