Helen Marguerite Hope Bopp, 85, of Terre Haute died of natural causes Tuesday evening,
April 14, 2009 in her daughter's home. She was born March 7, 1924 in Terre Haute to Paul
Robert Hope and Marguerite Denning Hope. Her husband, Dr. James Bopp, preceded her
in death in 2003.Survivors include her son, James Bopp, Jr. and his wife, Christine of
Terre Haute; three daughters, Debra Bopp Barnes and her husband, Steve of Lebanon,
Ind., Karen Elizabeth Bopp Ennis and her husband Chuck of West Terre Haute and
Teresa Ann Bopp Corenflos and her husband A. Victor Corenflos III of West Terre Haute;
two sisters, Larrie Parks and her husband William of California and Elaine Gietzen and her
husband Albert of California; a brother-in-law, Dr. Henry W. Bopp, Jr. of Terre Haute; two
sisters-in-law, Peggy Bopp Rose of Crawfordsville and Sally Bopp of Orlando, Fla.; 16
grandchildren, Kathleen Flanagan and her husband, Michael, Lydia Bopp, Marguerite
Bopp, Mark Ward-Bopp, Jr. and his wife, Elaine, Meghan Ward-Bopp, Nicholas
Ward-Bopp, Jarett Hayes and his wife, Hannah, Garth Hayes and his wife Anna, Catherine
Lyons, Nathaniel Ennis, Julia Ennis, Kayla Ennis, Adrien V. Corenflos IV, James Hayden
Corenflos, Ethan Coy Corenflos and Elliott Corenflos; three great-grandchildren, James
Ward-Bopp, Benjamin Ward-Bopp and Amelia Lucille Hayes; and several nieces and
nephews. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Rae Ward-Bopp; and a
sister, Mary Eileen Baxter.Margie was a graduate of Wiley High School and had attended
Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Indianapolis. She was a longtime member of
Centenary United Methodist Church, Service League of Union Hospital, Tri Kappa, Vigo
County Medical Alliance, Swope Art Museum and Country Club of Terre Haute. In 1998,
Margie was honored as the recipient of the Union Hospital Foundation Baur Award.Funeral
services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2009 in Kingshighway Family
Worship Center, 2901 South Seventh St., with Pastor Simeon Young Jr. officiating. Burial
will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. in
Callahan and Hughes Funeral Home, 605 South 25th Street. The family kindly requests
that memorial contributions be made to Union Hospital Foundation, 1606 North Seventh
St., Terre Haute, IN 47804.
