Norma Jean Brummett, 78, Gosport, died December 5, 2009, in her residence. Mrs. Brummett was born July 27, 1931, in Indianapolis, to the late Roy and Florence (Bowley) Bettcher.
Mrs. Brummett attended Mooresville High School. She later worked at the Indiana Statehouse in voter registration for a number of years. In addition, she had been a hairdresser in the Mars Hill area in Indianapolis.
She married Eugene Brummett on May 31, 1947; he preceded her in death on October 8, 2007. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Marjorie Willard and Tina Anderson.
Survivors include her sons, Roy Richard Eugene Brummett, Kenneth Lee Brummett, Jerry Lynn Brummett, and Roger Alan Brummett; sisters, Ruth Robinson and Nancy Higgins; 9 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.
Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 9, 2009, in the Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel, Mooresville, with calling there from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 8, 2009. Pastor Donald Robinson will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
