Mrs. Phoebe (Hooks) Bowser, 80, of Christy Ave., Ford Cliff died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 20, 1966) at her home after a lingering illness. She was born June 9, 1886 in Washington Township, a daughter of Hugh and Emily Bell (Johns) Hooks. Her husband Orlo L. Bowser died in 1948. Mrs. Bowser was member of Ford Memorial Methodist Church, Ford City. Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Floy (Isabelle) Rupert of Ford Cliff, Mrs. Daniel (Ida) Wright of Ford Cliff, Mrs. Harold (Mildred) Waugaman of Ford City RD 1, Mrs. Samuel (Helen) Yount of Ford Cliff, Mrs. Leroy (Gretta) Walter of Ford City, Mrs. Harold (Norma) Heifferich of Ford Cliff; three sons, Orlo M. And Glenn A. Bowser both of Ford City and Vincent Bowser of Decatur, Ill.; 31 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Norval Wyant of Ford City. BOWSER - Friends of Mrs. Phoebe (Hooks) Bowser, 80 of Christy Ave., Ford Cliff, who died Thursday (Oct. 20), will be received at Wendell A. Welch Funeral Home, Ford City, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 23) at the funeral home with her pastor, Rev. Denton S. Mann, officiating. Burial will be in Ford City Cemetery. Arrangements by Welch.
