Jennie was the daughter of John Peter Deisher and Louella Herbein.
She married on September 26, 1907, Kutztown, Pennsylvnia, to Charles Alvin Mertz.
They appear in the 1910 through 1930 census of Kutztown, Berks County, Pennsylvania. He was a knitter in a knitting mill.

NEIGHBOR WOMEN DIE ON SAME DAY Two Pennsylvania Ave. neighbors, Mrs. Jennie A.(Deisher) Mertz, 63 and Mrs. Mamie V. M. (Behm) Heffner, 61,died on the same morning, June 13th. Mrs. Mertz, wife of Charles A.Mertz, 317 Pennsylvania avenue, was a native of Maxatawny township, a daughter of John and Luella (Herbein) Deisher, She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and its Aid Society. In addition to her parents and husband she is survived by these children: Paul Mertz, Allentown; Mrs. Francis Harter, at home; and Mrs. Harold Burgert, Fleetwood R. 2; four grandchildren; and two brothers and two sisters: Elmer Deisher. Baltimore; Mrs. Harrison Fritz. Hershey; and Mrs. Gladstone Nagle and Horace Deisher, Kutztown. A son Melvin preceded her In death. Her funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p, m. at the Fritz and Kenda11 Funeral Home, the Rev. J. W. Bitter officiating. Burial in Hope cemetery.
