Born in Evreux Air Base, Eure, France, he was the 3rd son & seventh child of Floyd D. Ball & Virginia M. Bowen Ball. The family was living in Dreux while Floyd was assigned to St. Andre Army Depot. They removed to Ft. Polk, LA, living in Vernon & Beauregard parishes. Floyd was discharged in 1966, and they moved to Webb City, MO, then to Pittsburg, KS. This was followed by 12 years in Fremont county CO, returning to MO in 1982. Daryl quit school when he turned 16. He was a good mechanic, and all around handyman. He was prone to frequent violent outbursts, but would be very helpful to others whenever it suited him. He was an alcoholic, and refused to get professional help. He hanged himself the day before Thanksgiving, and was cremated. His ashes were buried on his father's plot in Wild Rose Cemetery. No headstone marks his burial.
