He worked as a truck driver for most of his life. Earling enjoyed the children and was a great-grandfather. He enjoyed spending the last couple of years of his life at Dexter Health Care, where his favorite pastime was playing bingo.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Carolyn (Dow) Hersey of Guilford; three children, Denise Hamilton and her husband, Dean, of Gray, Alyce Leiann Page of Guilford and David L. Foster of Guilford; three brothers, his twin, Sterling Hersey and his wife, Normie, of Blanchard, Johnny Hersey of Bangor and Berry Hersey of Bradford; four sisters, Betty Adams and her husband, Alvin, of Abbot, Nora Hersey of Sebec, Mary Ann Bubier of Bradford and Betty Walker of Bingham; 14 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Daniel Hersey; and a stepson, Curt Foster.
