Old Resident Passes Away
F. M. Koenig Dies At Advanced Age At His Home Near Village Of Oronoco

The community was shocked and saddened Thursday when the sad news was broken to them that F. M. Koenig, an old and esteemed resident, had succumbed. Mr. Koenig had been sick only a few days, death being due to heart trouble.

Mr. Koenig was born in Germany on September 4, 1945, and died March 28, 1918.

In 1870 Mr. Koenig came from Germany to Chicago with his parents, working at the carpenter trade until 35 years ago, when he and his family moved onto a farm northeast of Oronoco, where he lived until the time of his death.

In 1872 he was united in marriage to Sophia Peters. To this happy union 12 children were born. Two died in infancy.

In youth, Mr. Koenig became a member of the Evangelical Lutheran church and there he remained a faithful and honorable member until the time of his death.

He was trustee of the church for the last 24 years.

Besides a loving wife, Mr. Koenig leaves to mourn his death, Mrs. H. Ritter, Oronoco; William at home; Fred, Mrs. C. A. Burbank, Mrs. P. Kaul, Albert of Rochester, Robert, Arthur, Tillie and Clara at home, four sisters and one brother.

Everything that loving hands could do was done to relieve and comfort the traveler, the wife and children all being present.

Aside from a devoted husband and loving father, Mr. Koenig was a highly esteemed neighbor.

Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at ten at the house and 2:00 at the church at Oronoco. Interment is to be made in Oronoco cemetery.
