Lela Gardner, 74, Rt. 4, Olney, IL, died Saturday evening, July 7, 1979, at the family residence.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the Summers Funeral Home, with Rev. Earl Michels officiating. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

She was born in Richland County, on April 16, 1905, the daughter of Clarence and Ada (Madden) Crites. She married Walter S. Gardner on Nov. 26, 1924.

She is survived by her husband, one son, Ed, Olney, IL; one daughter, Ada M. Brummitt, Calhoun, IL; five brothers, Charlie, Carl and Lee Crites, all of Olney, IL, Joy Crites of Hindsboro, IL, and Noble Crites of Bridgeport, IL; three sisters, Innes Crites and Josephine Harmon, both of Olney, IL, and Juanita Strange of Flora, IL; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Harry, two sisters, Verna Crites and Lucy Craig, and one grandchild.

She was a member of the Otterbein Church.
