Funeral for Velma Louise Banks, 84, of South Morgan Health Care Center will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Chambers officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Banks, who was born Velma Pepper on Feb. 21, 1909, in Morgan County, died Friday at South Morgan Health Care Center. She was a member of Point Mallard Parkway Church of Christ.

She is survived by three daughters, Lillian Hughes, Wanda Grigsby and Louise Ray Reed, all of Decatur; two stepsons, Charles Banks of Decatur and Wendell Eugene Banks of Leighton; two stepdaughters, Mary Hovater of Cullman and Marie Catlin of Pontiac, Mich; two sisters, Kate Tucker of Decatur and Mary Lou Jones of Orlando, Fla; 11 grandchidlren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Luther Knighten, Clayton Knighten, James Pepper, Kenneth Melson, Melvin Tucker and Douglas Crane.
