Hagerstown, Md., dated March 11, 1974:

SMITHSBURG - L. Donald Brenner, 73, of 68 S. Main St., died Saturday morning at the Veterans Administration Center in Martinsburg, W. Va.
Born in Smithsburg, he was the son of Walter D. and Carrie M. Donaldson Brenner.
He was a veteran of World War II of the US Army. He was a charter member of the Smithsburg Fire Co. and a member of the South Mountain Rod and Gun Club and the Clopper Michael American Legion Post of Boonsboro.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Robert L. (Betty) Ballentine of Greensburg, Pa.; two brothers, William B. Brenner of Smithsburg and Walter D. Brenner, Jr. of Chambersburg, Pa.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg. The Rev. Gregory R. Pile will officiate.
Burial will be in the Smithsburg Cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight at the funeral home from 8 to 9.
