Emma Gertrude Rogers.
Born in New Britain, CT and graduated from Mt. Holyoke College in 1898. Went to Van, Turkey as a missionary under the auspices of the ABCFM in 1907 where she was Principal of the Girl's Boarding School. During the war, as Van was taken by the Russians and then the Turks, she worked as a nurse in the Hospital. The mission station was evacuated and she returned to the US in the fall of 1915. She resumed teaching in CT and RI
