Funeral services for William Edward Hopkins, Sr., 77, were conducted Monday afternoon at 2:30 at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. B. S. Crawford officiating. Burial was in Mulberry Cemetery. Mr. Hopkins died Sunday morning in Lincoln County Hospital following a short illness. A native of Giles County, he was a veteran of World War I, and a member of the Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lessie Grey Hopkins of Fayetteville; one son, William E. Hopkins, Jr., of Athens, Georgia; one step-son, William E. Motlow of Fayetteville; and one step-daughter, Mrs. George Townes of Shelbyville.
