Jesse left North Carolina about 1843 and came to Wayne County, Indiana and died shortly thereafter at the age of about 87.
He was a ship builder by trade and followed that occupation while he remained by the coast. Also a Quaker.

Jesses' first wife Mary Johnson died about 1820 and he afterwards married Phoebe Edgerton of Wayne Co. N.C. where he moved about 1820. The children then with him were Anna, Susanna, Elijah and Josephus, the others remained in Carteret Co. He was a ship builder by trade and followed that occupation while he remained on the coast. His wife Phoebe died about 1832. He remained in North Carolina until 1843, when he moved to Wayne Co., Indiana and died soon after his arrival and was buried at Dover in that county, aged about 87.
